Faces of CCS

These are just a few of the self-portraits created in our art classroom this year. Self-portraits have to be one of my favorite things to help children create. I learn so much about the students through this project and can't help but smile at the results. Enjoy!

"Me Happy Home" Three words for an artwork

Kindergarten and First Grade were to associate colors with themselves, with being happy and with the idea of home. They could also draw something to go along with it if they wished. For this project students used ink pen and watercolor paint.

Fantasy Villages

(2 Example Works by Marc Chagall)

Second and Third grade ventured into created fantasy villages. They altered reality through color and sometimes space and line and many other visual elements. For this project they all mad preliminary sketches. You can see Abigail's (3rd grade) example below. For the project they learned about two artist that tend to alter reality in their work. Those two artist are Marc Chagall and Max Beckmann.

I was very proud of how all the students used their imagination for this assignment.
